Description
This point lies along the vagus sinus, artery and nerve. It can cause anything from extreme pain to death. It will easily affect a knock out.

The carotid sinus is known to be baroreceptor. It detects changes in blood pressure. When a change is detected, a signal is sent via the vagus nerve to the vasomotor center (Located in the medulla oblongata. It regulates blood pressure via the autonomic nervous system.) in the brain. As a result, vasodilation (a widening of a blood vessel) results and the heart rate occurs, causing the blood pressure to lower. This phenomenon is known as carotid sinus reflex.
