Point Name: 上星 (shàng xīng) “Upper Star”

Location
On the mid line of the head, 1 cun above the midpoint of the anterior natural hairline at the forehead.

Local Anatomy: 1 cun within the anterior hairline, 4 cun anterior to GV-20, on the midline. At the border between the left and right frontalis muscles.

Vasculature: The branches of the frontal artery and vein, and the branches of the superficial temporal artery and vein.

Innervation: The branch of the frontal nerve.

Location
On the mid line of the head, 0.5 cun above the mid point of the natural, anterior hairline.

Local Anatomy: On the midsagittal line of the head, 0.5 cun within the anterior hairline.

Vasculature: The branch of the frontal artery and vein.

Innervation: The branch of ‘the frontal nerve.
